The challenge

As an ambitious pre-opening boutique property steeped in generations of local heritage on the island of Crete, Crēthos faced a critical positioning dilemma before launching into a highly competitive market. The ownership team possessed a deep, multi-generational legacy on the island, yet they lacked the singular narrative thread required to translate this vast history into a cohesive, contemporary guest experience. The physical concept needed to feel profoundly rooted in place, without falling into predictable historical clichés that fail to move today’s high-end travellers.

The hotel was also applying for membership to a prestigious hotel group. This milestone demanded an airtight conceptual backing where the architecture, interior textures, and guest rituals weren't merely aesthetic choices, but chapters of a unified and deeply soulful story. Crēthos approached our agency to develop an informed hotel brand positioning framework to ground their physical build, define their experiential touchpoints, and engineer a world-class hospitality concept from the ground up.
